Action weekend at a glance

We will prepare well for the actions. Therefore, we ask you to arrive by Sunday noon (26.03.) at the latest! For action newbies, we recommend arriving on Saturday (25.03.). Please only send a delegate from you affinity group to the action plenary on Sunday at 4 pm. Unfortunately, we do not have enough space for all the activists there. Therefore, discuss in your affinity group before the action plenary what you want to do and when you have time.

For preparation we offer the following workshops or plenaries:

  • Action trainings: How do I prepare for an action of civil disobedience – and how do I behave there? Concepts and tactics of civil disobedience, mutual exchange and practical testing of different forms of action and methods.
  • Legal aid workshops: What legal questions arise around actions of civil disobedience and how can you prepare for them? The aim is to get Austria-specific legal information, to have space for your own questions and to discuss political strategies for dealing with repression.
  • Action plenaries: Here you can find out all the important information about the actions so that you can make a good decision about which action you want to take part in.

Even if you are already experienced activists, we advise you to at least participate in the action plenary on Sunday at 4pm. Unfortunately, there won’t be much room for general questions there. At the action plenaries before, we will have more time to address questions in detail.

More information about the Power to the People Space & Café in the Culture Centre 4lthangrund:

How to get there: https://www.4lthangrund.jetzt/zugang-zu-4lthangrund/, access via wheelchair is possible.
A place to gather, rest, exchange and communicate during the power to the people conference and action days.
Open Saturday 25. – Wednesday 29. March everyday 9am – 10pm. The cultural center 4lthangrund welcomes you to come by during the actions days.
About us: In 2018 we started with the utopian idea of anchoring art, culture, and social togetherness in the neighborhood for the long term. Our name takes up the demand “Right to the City”, and since then we have been operating in the Althangrund area. Through the continuous work of the last few years, we have become a constant in the city, district and in the neighborhood. We are an open collective organized as a non-profit association with the aim of enabling cultural, social, neighborhood, and
solidarity activities in the district and promoting self-organization. The cultural center 4lthangrund is the place where such a solidarity perspective on the city is tried out and already lived.
What will happen on site: We are a place where you can inform yourself about the protest, related needs as well in general as there is a selforganized infoshop on site. We are a place to rest during the often stressful times of activism. We are a space to exchange, have a drink, get some food and to meet others. We are also a kids friendly space, there is a extra playarea with toys on site.
As a self organized space its important that you support on side trough respecting the structure ans space. This goes from taking care of trash to washing dishes or by also getting yourself familiar with the concept of the space.
We are looking forward to have you with us; power to all of us who aim for a good life for all and to overcome these factors that oppress us. rprobt und bereits gelebt wird.
